Overdressing is a concept that is either praised, or questioned with bewilderment. You are either celebrated for being the overdressed baddie in a room; or questioned for your over the top outfit choice.

You are going to slay town; that is where you are going.
Comments such as these can make people refrain from overdressing for occasions. You don’t want to be ”too dressed up”, or put ”too much attention” on yourself. Listen, unless it’s someone’s birthday or wedding; and the morally correct thing is to not outshine the people being celebrated; overdress wherever you go.
It’s better to be overdressed for an occasion than underdressed. If you are someone that doesn’t want to be overdressed because of the commentary from others; imagine if you are underdressed; you will still be the topic of discussion. People will always have something to say, so you mine as well be overdressed and give them something to talk about.
If you don’t want to be overdressed because you don’t want all eyes to be on you; if you are underdressed all eyes will certainly be on you; and not in a positive way.

Overdressing isn’t about other people, it isn’t about validation; it’s about you showcasing the self-love that you have for yourself. It’s about you radically celebrating yourself.
